Personalized care to restore movement, relieve pain, and improve your well-being.
The Active Healthcare Practice was established in 2016 with the vision of being able to provide a multidisciplinary approach to treating musculoskeletal pain & injury, as well as helping to improve function and performance, all under one roof from the same practitioner.
We are proud to be registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council which means that you can rest assured that qualifications have been verified to make sure that they meet National Occupational Standards and that insurance and first aid training is up to date, as well as checking that training and knowledge skills are current.
Our clinic at Arena Business Centre in Poole, Dorset, offers a comfortable, relaxed setting whilst maintaining the strictest hygiene measures. There is plenty of free parking available and disabled access with lift.

Whenever you are considering visiting a Sports Therapist it’s very likely you’re going to have lots of questions. To help you decide if this is right for you we’ve created a list of some of the most common questions and concerns people have.
No. Julia is a qualified sports and musculoskeletal therapist. Both professions are trained and insured to treat musculoskeletal disorders, but there are some differences in their training and approach. Both treat pain and injury through hands-on treatment methods (manual therapy), rehabilitation, and patient education.
Yes, I use TCM acupuncture methods to help treat the symptoms of menopause and some other women’s health conditions, and also offer acupuncture to support patients living with cancer.
I currently do not offer treatments for weight loss or giving up smoking.
Absolutely. I’m fully qualified in a variety of disciplines. I continually update my skills with egular professional development courses. I’m insured with BGi, one of the leading providers of Manual Therapy Insurance. I’m also voluntarily regulated by the widely recognised Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.
Chiropractor and Osteopath are protected titles and can only be used by individuals who have studied these specific fields. Julia is a sports and MSK Therapist who is qualified to use techniques in both disciplines. Osteopathic and Chiropractic techniques are now widely used by many different manual therapists. The techniques themselves aren’t ‘owned’ by Chiropractors or Osteopaths, but it’s really important to make sure that your therapist is fully trained and insured to carry out these techniques. Julia has trained with some of the world’s leading tutors and holds qualifications in advanced techniques, which are fully insured.
That depends on the problem. Sometimes one treatment is enough to get you moving enough for you to manage your treatment at home on your own. If a condition isn’t improving after 3 treatments, sometimes I will refer you to your GP or a Specialist for further investigation. Some clients come for regular maintenance treatments.
Yes, I can, after thorough screening, assessment and if it’s appropriate.
